Bachelor's Degree in Automotive Engineering
Introduction and objectives
The automotive sector is one of the most globalized and competitive industries.
Innovations and technical improvements are constantly being introduced in areas such as safety, energy efficiency, and environmental protection.
With a strong tradition in Catalonia, it has become a strategic sector. Some of the leading international manufacturers are present, along with a large number of component and service suppliers, which together represent a significant share of exports. An annual demand of 100 engineers is expected in this sector until 2030.
The Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Engineering responds to the industry’s demand for engineering professionals with specific knowledge, who have in-depth mastery of both the product — the automobile and its components — and the process, namely production and management. The goal is to train specialized engineers with a comprehensive view of the industry and its value chain.
The degree provides solid scientific foundations and advanced training in subjects such as design, materials science, mechanics, electricity, electronics, and the use of ICT, all applied to the automotive field.
An important part of the program is dedicated to innovative technologies such as electric and hybrid propulsion or autonomous vehicles.
The training is complemented by in-depth study of aspects related to industrial organization, such as quality management.
